Alan G. Schofield, 74, of Uxbridge passed away Thursday March 9, 2023 in
Milford Regional Hospital, Milford with his family by his side after a brief illness. He was the
loving partner of the late Nancy Chiero.
Mr. Schofield worked as a biochemist for the Dupont Corporation in Boston for many years and
had been a longtime resident of Uxbridge.
He was born in Wakefield, RI in 1948 the son of the late George and Elizabeth (Wickes)
Schofield and was a graduate of Tabor Academy in Marion, MA and the former Barrington
College in Barrington, RI.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Alan enjoyed fishing, hunting, loved to read and was especially interested in Massachusetts
history. He would always find time to chat with friends. Preparing meals at the lodge during the
holiday seasons was one of his greatest joys. He took great pride in being a fourth generation
Mason within his family and was a member of the Montgomery Lodge of Mason, AF & AM in
Milford and was also a member of the Milford Commandery of Knight Templar #11 – York Rite
in Milford.
He is survived by his sister Janet S. Morris and her husband Robert of Lawrenceburg, KY. Two
nieces, Sarah Jarrett and her husband Brendon of Riverside, RI and Mary Grenet and her
husband Gordon of Frankfort, KY. Also two great nieces, Elizabeth Ann and Marcia Jayne.
Funeral services will be private.
