35 years of passed quickly but I was a young internist working with my father in Kennewick when Alan was a young neurologist in Pasco. We shared the novelty of beginning our careers together. He was an exceptional personality with a vibrant imagination and totally hip in a profession that is normally very conservative. I thought of alan often over the decade since and I'm sorry to see that he is no longer with us. It was a privilege to have known him.

My dearest mentor. I had the pleasure of working along him for 10 years, and the impact that he made on my life will follow me forever. It was because of him I was able to flourish and become his neurodiagnostic technician. Not only did he teach me so much about medicine but about life. He was there for alot of milestones in my life not only the good but the difficult one too! It was no doubt that his family was his was his greatest accomplishment. Just seeing how he loved and treasured Mrs. Sue just oozed out of his pours. To his children, your dad taught me so much and I often would go to him about advice and he really was a father figure to me when I needed it most...even tough love. So I can only sympathize with your void. I will miss my dear friend emesly and will miss all the cd he made for me...especially Mavis Staples and Amy Winehouse. I could go on and on about him and how vital he was in my life but I'm afraid I don't have enough words in the any language, so I will honor him by doing what he always asked me to do..which is pay it forward. My condolences to you all. He will be greatly missed.

I am very sad to learn that Dr. Sconzert is no longer with us. I was one of the older neurologists in Richland, Washington when he moved to Pasco, Washington to start his neurology and psychiatry practice. He brought a higher level of neurological care to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He developed EEG testing, EMG-NCV testing and evoked potential testing at that hospital. He was an excellent neurologist and psychiatrist, a scholar, and most of all a gentleman. He joined the late Dr. T.D. Lahiri and me in providing neurological coverage at all three hospitals during the weekends. He participated with us in monthly educational case reviews. He was always amenable to instituting new protocols to improve care in all three hospitals.
To Mrs. Sconzert and the family, I offer my deepest sympathy. I very much appreciated the cards he would send me in his travels and the cards he would send me on my birthday. It was a privilege and an honor to have worked with a great physician and a gentleman.

My heart is saddened by the loss of Alan. We had a very special friendship that went beyond just being cousins. I remember our first meeting of a young man with long dark hair walking up to our back door. I quickly went to my parents and told them there was someone in our back yard. They did not recognize him and he had to explain who he was..... he was then greeted with BIG warm hugs and smiles! I was in 5th grade. We spent many days swimming and enjoying the summer days. From then on 100´s of letters and music have been shared and we were blessed with in person visits whenever possible . I was so very happy when he and Sue were able to come stay with us and spend some time in Colorado . My deepest sympathy to you all as I share in your sorrow. I love you all..... Margy

My Dear cousin. I can't believe that you are no longer here among us. The eldest grandchild on the Unertl side. Your random postcards to reach out and let me know you thought of me. All of the CD's of the music you knew I would enjoy! My heart is sad today. Sending my love to Sue and the children at this time of grieving. Also, to my dear cousin Deb. Love you, Alan. Jeanette You will be missed.

Where do I begin... I have known this wonderful man for 50+ years. He is impossible to describe and can never categorized. He and Sue are so very important to our group of friends and we are all heartbroken to lose his company in this life. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Alan´s face beamed when any member of his family was mentioned. I am personally at peace that his soul is free and I know he will never be forgotten and will be missed everyday.
All of my love to Sue and the entire family. We will forever miss Baba.
