Alan Lee Timmerman of Climax, Michigan, aged 75, passed into eternal rest on August 8, 2024. Born on January 28, 1949, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to the late Frank and Wilma Timmerman, Alan lived a life marked by devotion to his family, his country, and his community.
A 1967 graduate of Kalamazoo Christian High School, Alan went on to serve with honor in the Marine Reserves, embodying the virtues of loyalty and service. His professional career was spent at Pfizer, where he dedicated 25 years before retiring to pursue personal interests with vigor.
Alan's love for the land was evident in his commitment to farming and gardening. He found solace in the simple pleasures of tending to his land and driving his tractor through the fields he knew so well. His appreciation for nature also led him to cherish time spent outdoors, camping in Michigan's beautiful forests with loved ones.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 54 years, Margaret “Mitzi” Timmerman, whom he married on January 16, 1970. Alan's memory will be treasured by his daughter, Lynn Mostrom of Mendon; his grandchildren, Joey (Jesicca) Henderson of Portage, Mikayla and Jaylen Mostrom of Mendon; his brothers, Jack (Deb) Timmerman of Loudon, Tennessee, and Dick (Jaclynn) Timmerman of Portage; sister-in-law, Sharon Noteboom of Lawton; as well as many nieces, nephews, and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Alan's life will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Climax Country Estates Community Building. His gentle spirit and unwavering integrity will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family suggests that those wishing to express sympathy consider donating to Centrica Care Navigators or Hillside Elder Care in memory of Alan, as a tribute to his compassionate soul and his dedication to the well-being of others.
May Alan rest in peace, remembered always for his kindness and the quiet strength he brought to every aspect of his life.
