Alba Lucia Giraldo

Alba Lucia Giraldo, 85, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. Born in Pereira, Colombia, on January 29, 1939, she was the beloved daughter of the late Ramon Giraldo and Eudoxia Mejia Giraldo.
Lucia had a fulfilling career with the U.S. Government, where she first worked for the Army Reserves before transitioning to Immigration, where she served as an Administrative Assistant to the Director.
Lucia was a kind-hearted and caring friend to many. She lived life on her own terms and found joy in the simple pleasures. She loved knitting, watching the Red Sox, and buying lottery tickets, always with a smile. A lifelong and cherished friend of Diva Hurtado, Lucia was fondly cared for in her final years and was also the loving Godmother to Edwin Hurtado. As part of the Hurtado family, she is survived by Diva, Edwin, Amy, Claire, Brandon, Marshall, and Darius Hurtado.
Friends and family are invited to join us for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 183 Church St., Newington on Friday February 14th at 11: 45 a.m. She will be laid to rest at a later date beside her parents at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
