Albert Andrews Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dracut Funeral Home on Aug. 26, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Albert "Bud" Andrews, Jr., was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. A graduate of Dracut High School, Bud proudly served in the U.S. Army Aggressor Detail in Germany before returning home to raise his family in Dracut, Massachusetts. Over the years, he also made his home in Middleburg, Virginia, Hollis, New Hampshire, and, most recently, North Hampton, New Hampshire.

Bud will be remembered for his quiet strength, gentle spirit, and the joy he brought to everyone who knew him. A man of many talents, he worked as a machinist, tavern owner, and builder. A gifted woodworker, he created pieces that reflected both skill and imagination, leaving behind treasures infused with his creativity.

His passions were as diverse as his abilities. A lifelong car enthusiast, Bud loved hot rods, antique cars, and especially Ford trucks fitted with Chevy engines. As founder of the Dracut Road Runners Car Club, he shared this passion with many friends who became like family. He also found joy in tending gardens, exploring the ocean as a scuba diver, and losing himself in a good book. Ever lighthearted, Bud often joked that his only real regret in life was not living long enough to see the treasure of Oak Island unearthed.

Above all, Bud was devoted to his family. He often spoke of his one true love, Nancy, and the countless blessings he found in their 59 years together. A loving and steadfast husband, father, and grandfather, he always made time for those dearest to him.

Bud is survived by his wife, Lucy "Nancy" Andrews; his children, Evelyn Masson (James), Erin Andrews, and Melissa Sullivan (Greg); and his grandchildren Brent and Sean Sullivan, and Jimmy, John, and Andrew Masson. He also leaves behind his sisters, Susan Cline (Herb) and Sarah Andrews of Chelmsford, Massachusetts.

He was predeceased by his parents, Albert Sr. and Evelyn Aubrey Andrews, as well as siblings Jack, Kathleen, Lynn, and Dana.

Bud lived a beautiful life-one marked by love, laughter, creativity, and adventure. His memory will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known him.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 9 am – 10:30 am at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 11:00 am following the visitation. Interment to follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, LOWELL.
