Dear Nancy and the Andrews family,
I am so saddened to hear of Buddy´s passing.
Please accept my sincere condolences.
I am thankful to have been able to see all of you at the beach a few years ago.
He touched many lives and will be sorely missed.
Sending prayers for comfort and strength during these difficult times.

I met Al Andrews in Germany where we both were in HQ /HQ company, 1st BT, 30th Infantry. There aside from being in the Army, we bonded to be close friends. We traveled around Germany in my car. Fortunately, when I was released, after he was, I flew from NY city to Boston to visit him. Bud, I learned was his hometown name. I met his wife Nancy in VA when I flew back to the east, and his mom told me he lived then in VA. Then his children as I recall were adults. I was notified by Erin her dad passed away the same day he passed away. She wanted me to recall our army days to fill that in. Bud was a jeep driver when we met in Germany. So was I. I was wanted as the company clerk by our commanding officer, so I got that job. I admired him all that time. He was very smart and was a fine soldier. I recall him as a machinist and a developer in the USA. As good a person as he was, no doubt he had many friends. We normally hung around together after army duty was done for the day.
He for me is a lifetime friend.
I am sad he is gone. I wish his family the best and pray he is in heaven.
