Albert S. Barillaro, age 98 of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.
Albert was born April 30, 1926 in Louisville, KY to the late Sam and Mary (nee Clementi) Barillaro. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of the VFW Post 5691 in Collinsville.
Albert was a retired bricklayer. He did all the brickwork for the Welcome to Collinsville signs through the city. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing corkball and bowling.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith (nee Geotz) Barillaro; parents, Sam and Mary Barillaro; a brother, Angelo Barillaro; and a sister, Rose Teichgraeber.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane (Charles) Mondorf of Glen Carbon, IL; and a grandson, Joey Mondorf.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Collinsville with Father Rob Johnson officiating.
Memorials are suggested to Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and will be received at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
