Albert Russell "Albie" Barkhouse, of Randolph, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his daughters, after a period a failing health, on November 11, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on June 20, 1942, in Brockton, Albert was the son of the late Edward and Gertrude (LaBrecque) Barkhouse. His presence was a blessing to all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
Albert was a dedicated father to his loving daughters; Jamie Griffiths and her husband Michael of Bridgewater, and Caitlin Louis and her husband Harry of Randolph. His role as Grandpa was one of his greatest joys, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for his grandchildren Kaylee, Mikey, Natalia, Aubrey, and Gigi, as well as his grand dog "Tony."
He was the brother to Edward Barkhouse of Hanson, Nancy Maria of Duxbury, Carole Hagerty of Stoughton, and John "Jack" Barkhouse of Randolph. Albert was preceded in death by his siblings Patrick Barkhouse, Boivin Barkhouse, Lorraine McMahon and Carl Barkhouse. He was also the former husband of the late Cheryl (Cote) Barkhouse. Albert dedicated many years as a Union Ironworker, a career that not only showcased his strength and hard-working nature, but also his commitment to his fellow workers. He also enjoyed and took great pride in snow plowing for the town of Randolph & working at a local towing company.
Albert was a simple man who found joy in the simple things. He found solace in the tranquility of nature by bird watching, and spending time on Newfound Lake. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and treasured the times spent in Maine with his beloved late friend Richard "Dick" Jackson.
Albert had an enduring love for antique and classic cars, often attending shows and sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with others.
As we bid farewell to Albert, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His legacy of kindness, friendship, and love for his family will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
At the request of the family, all services will be private.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in Albert's name to the Randolph Friendly Food Pantry, 1 Turner Ln, Randolph, MA 02368. Arrangements under the care of the Cartwright Funeral Home, Randolph.
