Dog dad and table scrap provider to his buddy, Juliet. Beloved uncle and godfather to many nieces and nephews. Mentor, friend and coach to anyone he met. Passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at the age of 66.
Al was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and in true Westside fashion never strayed far from the Westside. Al was a proud graduate and Student Council President at Taylor High School (c/o 1976), where he later became president of the THS Athletic Boosters and President of the Three Rivers Local School District Board of Education. He loved Taylor so much, he chose to have the Yellowjacket indelibly etched on his leg. A veteran of 35 years at Procter & Gamble, Al started humbly as a packaging technologist before working his way up to Director of Analytics and Insights. A career that enabled him to see the world, from Jakarta to Caracas, Al saw every roadblock as an opportunity, but his true gift was mentorship and coaching.
The true love of his life was his family; whether volunteering to coach numerous sports teams, boating on Lake Cumberland or the Ohio River, or soaking up some sun in his pool or hot tub, Al loved nothing more than sharing his time with his family. Al could be found on Friday nights watching Jackson on the football field, in the bleachers at Great American Ball Park, on an ATV with his grandkids, or in the kitchen waiting for a delicious meal from his Angel, Chrissy.
Visitation will take place on Friday, August 9th, from 5:30-8:30p at B.J. Meyer Sons Funeral Home. Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 10th at 9:00a at St. Joseph Church in North Bend, with interment following at Maple Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in the name of Al Bayes may be made to the Taylor High School Athletic Boosters, 401 N. Miami Ave., Cleves, OH, 45002.
