Franklin, CT - Albert N. Camillucci, Jr., son of Catherine (Selvidio) Camillucci, and the late Albert N. Camillucci, Sr., passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
Albert was born in
Norwich, Ct., on June 8, 1958. He graduated from Norwich Free Academy with the class of 1976. Following in his father's footsteps, Albert was initiated into the former Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 305 in 1980 as a pipe welder. He retired from Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 777 in 2013, and was a proud 45-year member. He worked at Millstone Nuclear Power Plant in Connecticut, and at many other powerhouses in Florida, California and all throughout the United States. He was a talented welder with marketable skills and he was one of those rare people who had the energy and stamina to work shutdown schedules of seven days a week for six weeks.
Albert is survived by his wife, Tina (Spraski) Camillucci of Franklin, Ct., a stepson Daniel; and a brother, Mark R. Camillucci of
Norwich, Ct., and many family members and friends. Albert and Tina were married in Newport, Rhode Island on May 14, 2014. They cherished their family home in Franklin, Ct., and especially because they lived next door to a favorite cousin, Anthony and Tiffany Camillucci.
Albert was an accomplished musician and thoroughly enjoyed playing bass guitar in various bands throughout the years, and he could sing. His music ranged from classic rock to gospel, and everything in between. He often arranged to play for free at many Christian gatherings and weddings. He was bold to preach the Gospel and he brought many people to Christ.
Albert was a Hospice Volunteer for many years. He was a humanitarian who helped improve the welfare and happiness of everyone. A friend remarked about "Albee," as he was sometimes affectionately called, "When Albee walked in the room, everyone's day got better." He was generous with his time, his talent and his money.
Albert attended New London Culinary School, and often cooked meals for large and small gatherings. He liked to experiment with new recipes and exotic ingredients. He was a grill master, an Italian cuisine lover, and he had his own special version of "refrigerator soup." He was an avid golfer and inherited a love for the game from his father.
Everyone who knew Albert described him as having an exceptionally optimistic personality and a hilarious sense of humor. His absence leaves a hollow space in our hearts and lives that cannot be duplicated by another. He is sadly missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace forever with Jesus, dear Albert.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at the Cathedral of Saint Patrick, 213 Broadway,
Norwich, Ct., on Saturday, September 28th at 9:15 a.m., with a cemetery service at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 815 Boswell Avenue,
Norwich, Ct.
