FISHKILL - Albert James Fizzinoglia, 79, an area resident for 11 years, passed away on October 2, 2024 at MidHudson Regional Hospital. He previously lived in New Rochelle. Born in the Bronx on May 5, 1945, Al was the son of the late Frank and Grace (Simonetti) Fizzinoglia. Al retired in 1981 from the NYPD as a Highway Patrol Officer.
Al enjoyed watching old movies, especially black and white Westerns. He loved a sweet cruller, a strong cup of coffee, and a good smoke. He was so proud to be a NYPD police officer, honorably displaying his badge on the wall. Above all, Al adored spending time with his family, especially the newest light of his life, his great granddaughter Avery. Al and Avery had the strongest bond from the minute they met. Every single day, Avery would run to him and give him the biggest hug and kiss. We will forever cherish the memories we have of him.
He is survived by his children, Francine Fizzinoglia, Lisa Fizzinoglia, Albert Fizzinoglia, and Jecenia Fizzinoglia; his grandchildren, Kaylee and her partner Anthony, Jaime, David, and Emma; his great-granddaughters, Avery Grace, Madison, Adriana, and Alaina; his brothers, Frank Fizzinoglia and his wife Helen and James Fizzinoglia; his former wife and constant companion, Janet Fizzinoglia; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 4th from 4-7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Chrisian Burial is being offered on Saturday, October 5th at 10 am at St. Kateri Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville.
