Albert A Glisson

Albert Allen Glisson, age 99, passed away at the Bailey Center for Caring on Thursday, October 16, 2025. Al was predeceased by his wife Ruby, parents Minnie and Perry Glisson, and brothers Walter and Bill Glisson.
He is survived by his son Chet Glisson (Gail), daughter Tracy Green (Butch), grandchildren Alan Glisson, Ami Glisson, Anna White (Pete), Andi Leigh Glisson, Taylor Poteet (George), and Hunter Green (Macey), and one great grandson, Ty Morin.
Al was born January 29, 1926 in St. Augustine. He graduated from Ketterlinus High School in 1946 following 2.5 years service in the US Navy during WW2, where he served as an aircraft painter at NAS and Cecil Field Jacksonville. Upon his return from the military he worked many years at FEC Railway, first as a Carman, and later as an inspector and billing clerk. He also worked as a member of the carpenters union in construction for several years, worked for AD Davis Construction, worked in the first phase of St. Augustine Shores as a warranty carpenter, and as a machinist for Fairchild-Hiller before returning to FEC and retiring in 1989.
Al was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist church, first on Arenta Street then Masters Drive, and then as it became Turning Point at Calvary Church. He was ordained as a deacon in 1981.
Services will be held Friday, October 24, 2025 at Craig Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with service at 11:00 am, and graveside following at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Turning Point at Calvary Building Fund.
