Joseph M. DeLucia, age 90, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on October 13, 2025. He was born on April 22, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York the son of the late Mario and Nellie DeLucia.
Joseph spent time as a Capuchin Missionary, dedicating his early life to faith and service. After settling in Florida, he helped establish St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, where he was a devoted member for 40 years. In recent years, he became a parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. He was a proud 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus and also an active member of the church choir.
Joseph will be fondly remembered for his unwavering faith, his refusal to wear his hearing aids, and his unmistakable fondness for fruit cake.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Margaret "Peggy;" step children, Edward (Tammy) Dorr, James (Terry) Dorr, Tracy (Gabriel) Farese, Kathleen (Thomas) Rayhill, Christopher (Bridget) O'Brien, Kelly O'Brien, Bridget (James) Cirico, Kathleen Canary, Shawn O'Brien and Mary (Steven) Sommers; 12 grandchildren; sister, Cookie Biundo and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
He was predeceased by his sister, Helen Stanco.
Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church on Friday, October 17th from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at noon.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Building Fund at Our Lady of Good Counsel 5950 State Road 16 St Augustine, FL 32092.
