Albert Hanley, age 86, of Lake Village, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. Born in Monon, Indiana, on September 7, 1938, he was the son of Clyde and Luella (Friedyl) Hanley. Albert graduated from high school and enlisted in the United States Army Reserves. After his service, he returned to his roots as a lifelong farmer, dedicating his life to his family and his land.
On July 1, 1959, Albert married his beloved wife, Carol Collins, on their farm. Together they shared 65 years of love, dedication, and partnership. Albert took great joy in farming and spent his free time enjoying the game of golf. His life was marked by hard work, humor, and a deep connection to the community he cherished.
Albert is survived by his devoted wife, Carol Hanley; his children, Dawn (Carl) Thiele and Bryan (Kathy) Hanley; and his grandchildren, Steven (Katie) Knutson, Lauren (Matthew) Williams, and Jonathan (Tionna) Hanley. He also leaves behind a legacy of 13 great-grandchildren and is survived by his sisters, Nellie Miller and Bonnie Gentry.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his grandchildren Amanda Sue and Dayne Hanley, and his siblings, Annabelle Binge, Leon "Bud" Hanley, and Clarence Hanley.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM. Albert will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery, where he will be honored and remembered for the remarkable life he led.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites contributions to causes dear to Albert's heart, American Heart Association or American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, celebrating a life well-lived and a man deeply loved.
