Born in Houlka, Mississippi on December 29, 1949. Son of Albert James Hester and Rosie May Hester Scott. He graduated from high school and college in Jackson, Mississippi. He joined the military in 1969 and served a term in Vietnam.
He is survived by his two children, Albert Wayne Hester II and Amantha Hester Putman; three grandchildren, Johnathan James Hester, Jeramy Putman, and Kaleigh Putman; two great-grandchildren, Joseph Wayne Hester and Alexanderia Putman; sister, Theresa Leazette Hester Mosley of Ocala, Florida.
Preceded in death by his father, Albert James Hester and mother Rosie May Hester Scott, two sisters, Brenda Kay Hester Carter and Virginia Rosalee Murphy.
