Albert J. Kinan
Biddeford
Albert Joseph Kinan, 62, of Biddeford, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
He was born in Roxbury, Massachusetts on May 26, 1962, son of Albert P. and Janet (Armstrong) Kinan. Albert grew up and was educated in the Stoughton, MA school system.
As an adult, Albert worked for a variety of area companies, and upon moving to Maine, he owned and operated Fern Park Cabins in Old Orchard Beach. He also has the distinct accomplishment of once writing and publishing a children's book.
Some of his favorite pastimes included going to the beach, cooking, and trying exotic foods. His children say that now as adults, they have no problem sampling foods from any culture because of the extensive variety of foods they were exposed to while growing up.
Albert loved to make people laugh and have a good time. He was the type of guy that would liven up a party just by walking in the room. Being quite a jokester he often looked for opportunities to catch people off guard with an unexpected comment or one of his classic one-liners. Though he was not afraid to speak his mind and put people in their place, everyone close to him knew he had an incredibly big heart. He will be sadly missed by many.
Albert is survived by his three children, Justin Swett, Julie Swett and Sophia Kinan; by his granddaughter Harley Swett; by three sisters Cheryl Kinan, Vickie Kinan and Joelle Kinan; as well as by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be 1:00 – 2:00pm, with a funeral service beginning at 2:00pm, on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James Street, Saco.

Happy birthday Al ! You're greatly missed during any of our get together and other events.
Laughter was always present, and mostly what I remember.
Rest in peace my friend.

I had the pleasure of often driving Al to medical appointments. We’d listen to music; Our favorite song was “Free Falling” by Tom Petty. But just about any familiar oldies song would get us singing. I think he had what musicians call “relative pitch” because he could sing songs out of the blue in the key of the original song. He’d start singing a song and I’d go on YouTube and sure enough he was singing in the right key.
We had fun
Gonna miss you, Al. Wherever you are I hope the Syrian cuisine is spectacular

There were so many times when sitting in a room together, we'd all start snickering and laughing for what seemed like hours and none of us knowing what exactly we were laughing about !
