Robert Michael Kinan
August 25, 1957 – October 1, 2025

Robert Michael Kinan, at the age of 68, passed away unexpectedly last Wednesday at his home in Pembroke, MA. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol (Martel) Kinan, his three children: Laurie (Kinan) Tuholski of Halifax, Daniel Kinan [and wife Michaella] of Rockland, and Heather (Kinan) Rymasz [and husband Jon] of Palmer, as well as five grandchildren: Lindsey and Steven Tuholski, Carter and Drew Kinan, and Lincoln Rymasz. He is also survived by his father Edmund Kinan, brother Edmund Kinan Jr., both of Plymouth, and his sister Donna (Kinan) Theodore of Littleton, his mother-in-law Bernice Martel, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, Lucy (Tenore) Kinan, who passed in September of 2022.

Bob was born on August 25,1957 in Boston. He grew up in Quincy, where he married his high school sweetheart, Carol. Together, they raised three children and made many cherished memories for them. He was a devoted family man, always being there for his loved ones without hesitation. He had a 30-year career in the US Postal Service, where he began as a mail carrier and worked his way up to Postmaster, an accomplished and successful role that he retired from in 2009. He then went into bank management at TD Bank, where he spent the rest of his working life.

Not only was he a devoted son, father and husband, but he spent his life offering guidance, love, support and service to many family members and friends, as well as his church family at North River Community Church.

For many years of his adulthood, Bob enjoyed kayaking, canoeing, hiking, fishing, camping and bicycling. He also loved to play both tennis and golf, as well as watch on TV. Later in life, he loved spending time with his grandchildren, reading survival adventure stories, and watching the Honeymooners and Three Stooges marathons. He also spent special time watching sports with his brother and Dad. He loved the ocean, being at the beach, sunsets and lighthouses.

For his last years, despite family support and medical care, Bob battled a lengthy and very serious mental and physical illness. We know he is at peace now, but this loss leaves a hole that can never be filled.

Rest in peace, Bob – our beloved husband, father, son, papa, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend. We miss you more than words can ever express.
