Albert Mattern Obituary
Born on October 4, 1953, in Plymouth, Indiana, he was a son of the late Clyde Herbert Mattern and Beverly R. (Stiles) Mattern. He grew up in LaPaz and completed school at LaVille High School.
For most of his work career, he was employed by Creed Septic Service Specialist in LaPaz. For a couple of years, he worked for a foundry in Tennessee.
In 2021, he moved to Columbia City.
Albert was a former member of the American Legion Post 385 in LaPaz. In his younger years, he enjoyed racing at the Plymouth Speedway. He loved Bluegrass and Country musician and playing the guitar, banjo, fiddle and dobro.
Surviving is a sister, Selena Waldo of Buchanan, MI, two nieces; five nephews; and his friend of over 40 years, Lorie Sprouse of South Whitley and life-long friend Ken Landrie of Plymouth.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde LaMar Mattern.
There will be no services.
