John and Carol Lamattina
June 27, 2025
To our dearest friend Mary and family, Carol and I would like to express our deepest sorrow for your great loss of a very special person, your husband and my very best friend, Al Miano. Al and I have been great friends since kindergarten and had many years of good and crazy fun. Al was always agreeable and very easy to get along with. In 1953 three of us, sitting in my old jalopy discussing Korean war, who among us was going to get drafted first. Al was the oldest I was next and joe Aiello was the youngest. Minutes later, Al's sister, Theresa calls Al from her window and yells, Al you've got a letter from the president. I went next and then Joe. Al served his time in Korea very honorably and proudly and has been highly commended for his contribution. After Al's military discharge, Al met Mary and married the love of his life. Later Pam came along. Life was good. Al and Mary purchased a beautiful home in Wilmington. We all loved the screen house. Sweet Pam grew up and brought home David Nolan and they produced the best three grandsons of all Danny, Benjaman and Tyler. I always said, "The Miano family is the best family in East Boston" Pam and David confirmed my thoughts. A word about Mary: Al had many medical issues for several years and was well cared for by his doctors and nurses, but only for Mary's love for Al and her constant, persistent care, AL may have left us years ago. Mary, you've done Al very well. God bless you and the Miano family. Al and Mary you will always be our best friends forever.
