Albert "Al" G. Mickelson, 90, passed away on November 19, 2025. Al was born to the late George and Ellen Mickelson on February 19, 1935, in Syracuse, NY. He went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was stationed at Norfolk Naval Air station. After serving Al went on to own his own businesses in the recycling industry in South Bend and Benton Harbor before retiring in 2001.

Al is survived by his wife, Brenda Mickelson; children, Jeff (Laura), Mark (Robin), Peter (Sarah), Jenny (Matt), and Rachel (Howard); nine grandchildren; siblings, Phil (Lucille) Mickelson, Richard (Paula) Mickelson and Ellen (Mike) Daignault as well as many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Jeri Mickelson; second wife, Sara Mickelson; grandson, Ben Mickelson and brother, Paul Mickelson.

Al loved to travel with his family to various places. He also enjoyed a good adventure whether it was biking, rollerblading, fishing or boating out on the water. When Al had time to relax he also enjoyed cooking, reading and watching movies.

Per Al's wishes there will be no formal services, and cremation will take place. Those wishing to donate in Al's honor may make their donations to a charity of their choice.
