Albert Molengraaf, 87, of Volga, SD, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Riverview HealthCare in Flandreau, SD. A Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings, SD.
Albert Molengraaf was born on July 7, 1937 to Adam and Hermina (Volkers) Molengraaf in Rowena, SD. Growing up, Albert was only able to graduate the 8th grade because he had to step up and work at the family farm due to his dad breaking both of his legs. He helped a number of other farmers during his career along with driving truck for a living. He was a busy man with his hands, always tinkering around on the farm and was able to fix about anything. Albert joined and served for the United States Navy in 1966, serving with pride.
Albert is survived by his wife, Irma Lorraine (Johnson) Molengraaf; three sons, Myke McLaughlin, Peter Molengraaf and Daniel Molengraaf; Lorraine's two children Marvin (Rikki) Anselm and Tina Lapolla; a life long friend, they called a daughter, Kristie Phillips; three brothers, Fred, Harry (Alice Ann) and John (Diane) Molengraaf; two sisters, Fannie Janssen and Betty Scott; sister-in-laws Henrietta Molengraaf, Sandy Molengraaf and Vicki Molengraaf; grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Hermina (Volkers) Molengraaf; Henry and Adrianna Walburg, Andy Molengraaf, Frank Molengraaf, Joe Molengraaf, nephew Scott Molengraaf and long-time friend, like a son, Victor Devers.
