Fred Molengraaf was born on December 3, 1939 in Rowena, SD, alongside his twin brother Frank. He was the son of Adam and Hermina (Volkers) Molengraaf. Fred spent his childhood moving with his family to various locations before eventually settling in the Brookings-Volga area. After completing his education, Fred dedicated his career to helping others. He worked for several area farmers, Sokota, the Lake Campbell Golf Course, Cook's Wastepaper, and later in life for his brother John's waste management business. When he wasn't working, Fred enjoyed fishing, gardening, and creating craft projects-pastimes that often sparked meaningful conversations with those around him. Among his most cherished memories were the years he spent raising his beloved dogs, Peppy and Ginger. Fred is survived by his sisters Fannie Janssen and Betty Scott; brothers Harry and John Molengraaf; sisters-in-law Lorraine, Henrietta, Sandy, and Vickie Molengraaf; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was welcomed into heaven by his parents, his sister Adrianna Walburg, and his brothers Andrew (Andy), Albert, Frank, and Joe Molengraaf. Also preceding him in death were his brothers-in-law Henry Walburg and Larry Scott. Celebration of Life will be June 6th from 5 -7:30 o'clock with prayer service with Pastor Joshua Carpenter at 7 o'clock. Our Savior Lutheran Church 1010 8th St. South Brookings, SD 57006 Meal will be provided.
