Albert Wayne Nelson, Sr., 69, of Grand Bay, AL passed away on January 26, 2024.
Albert was born on November 27, 1954 to James Nelson, Sr and Evelyn Marschke. After graduating from BC Rains High School, he served his country in the United States Army and in the Coast Guard Reserves. After his military duty, Albert worked as a master plumber until his retirement. When he was not working, he enjoyed gardening and any activity that allowed him to spend time outdoors.
He is preceded in death by his son, Albert Wayne Nelson, Jr; parents, James Nelson, Sr. and Evelyn Marschke.
He leaves behind his daughters, Katie Nelson (Steven) of Mobile, AL; Melissa Nelson Caldwell (Bill) of St. Louis, MO; Kimberly Nelson Smith (Josh) of Colorado Springs, CO; 5 grandsons, Jeremy, Trace, Jack, Preston, Hunter; 1 granddaughter, Kylie.
Albert's family will honor his memory with a funeral service on Wednesday January 31, 2024 at 11:00 am from the graveside at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude's or The Wounded Warrior Project.
