Albert James (A.J.) Quinton was born November 12, 1935, in Quinton, Oklahoma. He died on September 17, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas at home surrounded by his loving family.

He graduated from Quinton High School in 1954. On June 6, 1954, he married Wyllene Hancock in Quinton, Oklahoma. They were married for 71 years. Shortly after getting married, A.J. and Wyllene moved to Wichita, Kansas where he worked at Boeing Aircraft Company for 39 years and retired in 1993 as a Finance Supervisor.

After retirement, he and Wyllene enjoyed years of travel in their RV. Roaring River State Park in Missouri was one of his favorite places, where he made many memories trout fishing and camping with family and friends.

A.J. had many interests and enjoyed being active. He and Wyllene liked square dancing together and were members of a square dancing club and attended dances and conventions around the country. He also loved playing pool and was an avid pickle ball player. He was very artistically gifted, delighting family and friends with his drawings and woodcarvings.

He gave back to his community by serving as a Boy Scout troop leader, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, driving for the Red Cross, volunteering at the Downtown Senior Center and delivering Meals on Wheels.

A.J. valued hard work, integrity, and caring for his family.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Wyllene Quinton; daughter, Teresa Daze (Dan); daughter, Annette Snyder (Brad); son, Kenneth Quinton; and daughter-in-law Donna Quinton; grandchildren, Matthew Snyder (Whitney), Kristin Snyder (Rachel Morgan), Jeffrey Daze (Emily), Allison Daze (Will Pearce), and Kate Quinton; great-grandchildren, Ezra Snyder, Bennett Snyder, Izaac Morgan, and Micah Daze; brother, Terril Quinton (Peggy) and sister-in-law Patsy Smitherman; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by father, Hester Quinton, mother, Etta Belle Quinton, brother, Charles Quinton, sister-in-law, Evelyn Quinton, and brother-in-law, Jim Smitherman.

Services will be held Friday, September 26, 2025, in Quinton, Oklahoma, at the First Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with graveside service to follow. There will be a family viewing preceding the service at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to First Baptist Quinton, 77 North J Street, Quinton, Oklahoma 74561 or Meals on Wheels c/o Senior Services of Wichita, 200 South Walnut Street, Wichita, Kansas 67213. Services in care of Downing & Lahey West Mortuary.
