Albert John Riehm III, popularly known as AJ (don't spell that wrong), passed away December 21, 2023. He was 76 years old and had made his home in Fort Worth for the past seven years. He started life in New Orleans, January 19, 1947, the son of Albert J Riehm, Jr. and Theresa (Schroeder) Riehm. After graduating from high school, he served in the Army from 1966 to 1968. Upon leaving the Army, he was employed by Delta Airlines, which eventually brought him to the DFW area in 1987. He was a well known fixture at the Texas Rangers' ballpark, working security. Many looked forward to hearing his observations on life and his latest jokes. He was passionate about his Saints and LSU. He never strayed far from his roots, keeping New Orleans close to his heart. He will be sorely missed by his (and yes, they were his) four budgies, Chauncey, Quill, Nico and Kiwi, whom he adopted and cared for tenderly. AJ always possessed a spirit of joy, loyalty, kindness and honesty. If anyone needed anything, he would be the first to offer a hand. He never failed to warm the room with his infectious laughter and happy heart. The loyalest of friends and truest of souls, you knew you could trust him with your life. He always had a big smile on his face and would make people feel better after talking to him. His life was dedicated to the service of others. AJ was never one to seek the spotlight but somehow it always found him. Hislife was well deserved of emulation.
He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his soul mate, Cindy; his two sons and
daughters-in-law, Jay and Kimberly, Jeff and Tiffany; four grandchildren who were the light of his life,
Joshua, Hannah, Felicity and Brayden; his ex-wife, Marguerite.
In lieu of flowers, please extend a helping hand to someone who needs it, smile at the world, even when
you don't feel like it and please, feel free to re-tell any of AJ's jokes and keep the joy going.

Condolences To AJ´s Family, he was a great person to work with in the tower, always having a smile, whimsical story concerning life at Delta and a new joke. AJ will be missed by everyone who know him. He was our Little Buddy in the tower and could always be counted on to have a good answer for any situation.

I dealt with AJ the most when I was an Operational Supervisor for DFW In-Flight. You never wanted the red phone AKA "The Hot Line" to ring if it was day shift with AJ in the Tower at the other end! He always started with an apology before he announced the 9P delay he charged us with! I learned Cajun talk from him. -- and the Louisiana city was pronounced Na' Lynns not New Orleans! Picture was taken at a Rangers game when he was with Security there. RIP AJ! You were a DELTA TOWER LEGEND!!
