Albert Louis Rogers Sr.

Mr. Albert Louis Rogers Sr, 67, departed this life on Wednesday, January 18th, 2023, at home, surrounded by family. Albert is the son of the late Annie Marie Garlick and Willie Rogers.
He graduated from Central High School, King & Queen, Virginia, with the Class of 1975. After graduating he served in United States Army for 3 years and was Honorably Discharged. Albert went on to serve in the National Guard Bureau as a dedicated Sergeant for 10 years. He also worked for the Newport News Shipyard for 15 years. Albert retired from Virginia Peninsula Public Service Authority (VPPSA) after 17 years of dedicated service due to the declining of his health.
Albert was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. "Jim" as he was known, was a man of few words but his presence spoke for him. He will be remembered as "Mr. GQ" for his stylish and sophisticated looks; particularly for his wave pattern hairstyle and do-rag. He is preceded in death by his mother, Annie Marie Garlick.
Albert leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife of thirty-five years, Renee E. Rogers; four children, Albert L. Rogers Jr. (Brittany), Tina R. Stukes (Richard), Tray Jenkins, and Deon Jenkins; two grandchildren, Bryson Rogers and Olivia Jenkins; three sisters, Nancy Webb, Martha Banks (James), and Lisa Harris; one brother, Jesse Rogers (Mary); father, Willie Rogers; four aunts, Helen Banks, Ruby Rogers, Sally Baker, and Mildred Coleman; two uncles, Thomas Thornton and Charles Thornton; eight sisters-in-law, Dorine Chamberlain (MacArthur), Judy Lumpkin (Arvid), Linda Jones (Robert), Queen Chapman, Rosia Williams, Willa Robinson (Lionel), Clementine Chapman (Kenneth), Nicole Volk (Randy); and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Homegoing services for Albert Louis Rogers Sr. will be held on Saturday, January 28th, 2023, at 11a.m. at Mount Olive Baptist Church, King William, Virginia, with Pastor Donald Moss Officiating and Rev. Marcus Hickman delivering the eulogy. Interment services will follow at Wayland Baptist Church, Stevensville, Virginia.
