Albert Wagner Sr., 93, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, surrounded by love and family.
Born on July 20, 1932, Albert lived a long and full life defined by hard work, faith, and devotion to his family. He spent many years employed at Processed Plastic in Aurora, where he built lasting friendships and a strong work ethic that he carried throughout his life.
Albert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gail Wagner; his daughter, Doris Freeman; his parents, Goddard and Myrtle (Kaus) Wagner; his siblings and son-in-law Barry Quigley Sr.; granddaughters, Charla Wagner and Debbie Haws; and great-granddaughter, Amber Marquina. He was also preceded in death by his former wife, Doris Heim.
He is survived by his children Albert (Jean) Wagner Jr., Dale (Cheri) Wagner Sr., JoEllen (Phil) Kujawa, and Bob (Patty) Van Dyk; his son-in-law Jerry Freeman; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren - all of whom brought him great joy and pride.
Albert was known for his generous spirit, love of bike riding, and his dedication to staying active. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing things - whether it was around the house, in the garage, or for one of his kids - he was always ready to lend a helping hand and make something work again.
He never let a day go by without calling his children, each conversation ending with his signature words: "God bless you." His faith, kindness, and thoughtfulness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Albert often spoke about his excitement to be reunited with his beloved wife, and now they are together again. His life was one of love, strength, and simple joys - a true testament to a life well lived.
A visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 3 PM to 7 PM at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora, IL 60506. The funeral ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 11 AM, also at The Healy Chapel. Graveside services will follow the funeral, at Lincoln Memorial Park.
