Alberta M. Pluta-Hoffman

Alberta M. Pluta-Hoffman, 95, of Collinsville, IL, peacefully passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra, IL.

Alberta was born on January 31, 1930, in Collinsville, IL to the late Martin and Mary (nee Ronco) Jedda. She married Harry Pluta of Chicago, IL on January 8, 1949, and they were married until his passing on December 27, 1972. Alberta spent her career as a beautician. She took up golf later in life, which she learned from her second husband, Hugh "Hooks" Hoffman, whom she married on April 30, 1983, until his passing on October 24, 1998. She continued playing golf until she was 88 years old. Alberta was a great Italian cook, loved spending time with her family and a loyal friend to many.

In addition to her parents and two husbands, she is preceded in death by her son, Perry Pluta and one brother, Albert Jedda.

Alberta is survived by her two sons; Dennis Pluta (Carol Vangeison) and Michael Pluta; one granddaughter, Melissa Sharp (Brian); two great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Verna Jedda; one stepson, Jim (Nancy) Hoffman; two stepdaughters, Sue (Michael) Dorn and Linda (Mark) Johnson; numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL. Memorial service to follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor John Hembruch officiating. Private burial at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Collinsville, IL 62062, which will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital or Glen-Ed Pantry. Memorials will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062
