Hershel LeCroy Obituary
He was born July 12, 1938, in Keiser, AR, to the late Calvin Virgil and Katie Bell (née Williams) LeCroy. Hershel honorably served his country in the United States Army before beginning a long career with General Motors, where he worked in auto assembly and was an active member of the UAW Union.
A talented, self-taught guitarist, Hershel found great joy in playing music and was a devoted fan of traditional country.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patsy Leola (née Sullivan) LeCroy, and his brother, J.T. LeCroy.
Hershel is survived by his two sons, Wendell (Lisa) LeCroy and Richard (Beth) LaCroix; three granddaughters, Louisa (Nick) Campbell, Sara (Brett) Englert, and Melinda LaCroix; two great-granddaughters, Mia Campbell and Charlotte Englert; a brother, Jesse LeCroy; and a sister, Shirley Faye Medlin.
A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, Illinois. Service will follow at 4:00 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
