Alberta Louise Schutt-Bender

Alberta Louise Schutt-Bender, a resident of Harrison Township, Michigan, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 at the age of 67. She was born in Mount Clemens, MI on November 1, 1954 to the late Arthur and Irene (Osiwala) Schutt. On August 18, 2009, she married her husband Mr. Dave Bender. Together they have spent over 12 years of marriage.
In her younger years, Alberta enjoyed painting and drawing, and she always loved tending to her garden. She was a former member of the local Women's Pool League, serving as President in the 1990's. She was a family woman, and deeply loved her children and grandchildren especially. An avid outdoorswoman, she absolutely loved nature and wildlife – she could often be found feeding the birds outside her home, and anybody who knew her will especially know of her love and passion of horses.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Dave, children Leanne (Rich) Stegner, Sonny Culbreath, and Christopher (Cecilia) Culbreath. She was the proud grandmother of Trevor, Olivia, Victor, Finn, and Emily. Additionally, she is survived by her siblings Margaret Piehl, Carl (Cathie) Schutt, Francis Benya, Joseph (Linda) Schutt, Christina Hastings, Patrick (Ellen) Schutt, and Timothy Schutt, as well as her goddaughter Jennifer Brown and godmother Florence Husson, nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Besides her parents, Alberta is preceded in death by her stepson William Bender.
Visitation will be held in the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 S. Main Street, Mt. Clemens on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary service taking place at 7:00. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. (instate 11:00) at St. Peter Catholic Church, 95 Market St., Mt. Clemens with the Fr. John Maksym officiating. Private burial will be held at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, Clinton Twp. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Alberta can be made to wishes of the family to be distributed to her favorite charities.
