Alberta Sloop Swaney, age 91, formerly of Pendleton, SC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2025, with family by her side.
Born July 3, 1933, in Bedford, OH, she was a daughter of the late Monroe and Viola Sloop. She was married for 72 years to Hovey Swaney until his death in 2020. She was also preceded in death by daughters, Ann Burton, Penny Margraff, and Sylvia King; and all of her brothers and sisters.
Alberta was employed with West Point Pepperell for over 30 years before retiring. She was a sweet and gentle soul and lived life to the fullest. She was known for her quick wit and funny personality. Alberta was loved by all who met her. She was a member of East Clemson Christian Fellowship.
She is survived by her daughter, Tennie Jain; sons-in-law, Sammy King and Rich Margraff; grandchildren Sammy Joe, Marcus, Israel, and Shenna; great grandchildren, Dakota, Harley, Elijah, Tyler, Garrett, Kelsey, Lacey, Colton, Heidi, and Simon; and former son-in-law, Naresh Jain.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 1:00-2:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm in the Chapel. Burial will follow at Fants Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be at their respective homes.

I´m so sorry Alberta is gone. She always made me feel welcome when I would stay in the summer. She never stopped and her ponytail was always swinging.
