Alberto Capulli, beloved father, Nono, and master craftsman, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025, at the age of 95.
Born on December 28, 1929, in the quaint village of San Vittorino, Italy, Alberto lived a life defined by dedication, humility, and hard work.
As a young teen, Alberto began learning the art of carpentry from his uncle-skills he not only mastered but grew to deeply love. After immigrating to the United States, he turned that passion into a profession, eventually establishing and running his own carpentry business until 1992. His work was known for its precision, quality, and the care he poured into every detail.
Alberto married the love of his life, Licia, and together they built a beautiful life. They first lived in Eastchester, New York, before settling in the home that Alberto proudly built with his own hands. Together, they raised two children, Adrian and Paul.
Despite making a new life in America, Alberto never lost his deep love for his hometown of San Vittorino. He cherished his roots and returned to visit as often as he could. One of the highlights of his later years was traveling back to San Vittorino with his family at the age of 94, where he proudly shared stories and memories, walking the same streets that shaped his early years.
Even after retirement, Alberto never strayed far from his tools. He loved spending time in his barn-fixing, tinkering, and creating. Whether it was repairing a broken hinge or crafting something new from scrap wood, he found peace and purpose in his workshop. He also took great pride in cutting grass, staying active well into his later years. One of his favorite roles in retirement was mowing lawns at Acra Manor, where his steady presence and strong work ethic were appreciated by all who knew him.
Alberto was predeceased by his wife Licia of 60 years. Alberto is survived by his two sons, Adrian (Eileen) Capulli and Paul (Donna) Capulli; his grandchildren, Jenilee (Daniel) Halstrom, Paul (Kristin Manley) Capulli, Adrian Capulli, and Katie (Ro Peña) Capulli; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Lawrence, Jacob, and Wyatt, who brought their Great Nono endless joy. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and in the many lives he touched with his kindness and craftsmanship.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, June 18 from 4-7 pm at the Richards Funeral Home, 29 Bross Street, Cairo.
A celebration of Alberto's life will be held on Thursday, June 19 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Knock Shrine Church, 2052 NY-145, East Durham, NY 12423.
