Albin Hale Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Foothills Cremation and Funeral Service - Golden on Feb. 17, 2026.
Albin Hale, 72, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026 in Golden, Colorado. He was born on October 16, 1953, in Salina, Kansas.

Albin was raised by his cherished grandmother in Santa Fe, New Mexico and was drawn back to visit often. He was intrigued by the southwestern designs, cactus, and desert he spent his childhood around before moving to Colorado. Albin spent most of his life between Colorado and Alaska, proudly calling both places home.

Albin devoted 32 years of his professional life to Dowell-Schlumberger, building a career that carried him across the globe, including assignments in Australia and Kuwait, as well as throughout Colorado and Alaska. His lifelong friends were built within his career.

Outside of work, Albin felt most alive in the outdoors near a campfire. He loved camping, fishing, kayaking, and hunting, and found peace and joy in the great outdoors. One of his favorite post-retirement memories was floating the Yukon River with his nephew Jim Gardner-an adventure he often recalled with a smile and a story. Another fond memory he shared was when his Dowell work buddies all traveled up to Alaska to go fishing with him.

When he wasn't outside, Albin enjoyed traveling in his motorhome with his beloved dog, Kodiak, visiting friends and family or spending time on his property in Buena Vista, Colorado.

Albin was known for his sharp sense of humor and his love of a good joke. He delighted in sharing his favorite music, movies, and memories, always eager to spark a laugh or a lively conversation. His warmth, storytelling, and playful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his three children: Lyndsey Hale, Kaity and Brandon Fortney, and Zach Hale; and by his four cherished grandchildren, Mackenzie, Carson, Lucas, and Ethan. He is also survived by his two sisters, Tammy and Daryl Christensen, and Karla Towne, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Corine Anstey and Lee Hale along with various friends and relatives including his beloved grandmother, Ethel Mamie Anstey.

Albin's memory lives on in the stories he told, the laughter he shared, and the deep love he had for his family and the great outdoors. He will be remembered always and missed beyond measure.
