Alejandro "Fano" Chavez, 57, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 9, 2025, in Edinburg, Texas. He now rests in eternal peace and his memory will forever be held in our hearts and minds forever. Born on January 13, 1968, in Laredo, Texas, the son of the late Juan and Elia Chavez, Fano was a lifelong member of this community.
Surviving him are his beloved wife: Norma Chavez; children: Alejandro Chavez Jr. (Yasmin), Jessica Marie Rodriguez (Ramiro), Derrick Chavez (Daisy), Marcos Chavez & Priscilla Chavez; grandchildren: Liam, Ihana, A.J., Arturo, Ramiro III, Kassandra, Kiara, Anthony, & Abby; siblings: Teresa (Carlos) Tobias, Juan Carlos Chavez (Yvonne), Hilda Villatoro (Oscar), Guadalupe Rodriguez (Pedro), Martha Chavez (Victor Juarez), Lupita Chavez, Javi Chavez (Marisol), Veronica Peche (Rafael Garcia), Brenda Alvarez (Fernando), nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 5 to 10 pm at Hillside Funerals & Cremations, where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will be offered at 7 pm.
Funeral services will continue on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 7 am to 8:30 am in the funeral chapel, where the funeral procession will depart to St. Frances “Mother Cabrini” Catholic Church, where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 9 am.
All services will conclude at the church and a cremation will follow at a later date.
Pallbearers will be: Alejandro Chavez Jr, Derrick Chavez, Marcos Chavez, Juan Carlos Chavez, Ramiro Rodriguez, Javi Chavez, Pedro Rodriguez, & Johnny Rodriguez.
