Alejandro “Alex” Maestas, 75, of Casper, Wyoming, passed away on March 12, 2026.
Alex was born on April 18, 1950, in Wagon Mound, New Mexico. He later moved to Casper, where he attended St. Anthony’s Catholic School, Dean Morgan Junior High, and Natrona County High School. Alex worked as a mason for 20 years before beginning a career as a natural gas compressor mechanic in the 1990s. He dedicated many years to the industry before retiring in 2019.
Alex was raised on a ranch in Arminto, Wyoming, and often shared fond stories of growing up there with his siblings. On February 17, 1976, he married the love of his life, Denise, beginning a marriage that spanned 50 years. Alex was deeply devoted to his family and especially cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoyed riding four-wheelers and spending time boating and camping at Alcova Lake. Known for his playful spirit, Alex loved telling jokes and pulling pranks, and he had a gift for striking up conversations with anyone he met. To know Alex was to know laughter, kindness, and a welcoming heart.
He is survived by his loving wife, Denise; his daughter, Dana; his sons, Alex and Jason; his daughter-in-law, Lindsey; his grandchildren, Dominique, Maria, Landon, and Brayden; his siblings, Lora, Dorothy, Joe, and Theresa; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucia, and his sister, Nora.
A Viewing and Rosary will be held at Bustard & Jacoby Funeral Home on March 18, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on March 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with Father Ray officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. A reception will be held at the church following the burial.
Alex will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
