Alesa B. Geraghty

Alesa Geraghty, nee Yonker, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on October 6, 2025. She was the beloved wife and best friend for 28 years to Tom; devoted mother of Justin, Brendan (Kristina), Mikaela, Ryan, and Owen; dearest sister to Geary (Heather) and Nicholas Yonker; cherished daughter of the late Priscilla, nee Wozniak, and the late Roger Yonker; and loving aunt of many.

Alesa grew up in Palos Heights and attended Shepard High School before attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She continued her studies by earning her Masters in School Psychology at Northern Illinois University and flourished in her career as a school psychologist for several school districts. She was incredibly skilled, diligent and thoughtful in her work and loved working with young children every day. Her second and most beloved career was being a Mom to her five children and all she wanted for them, as she often said, was to "Be Happy!" She supported her children in all their passions as a dance Mom, baseball Mom, basketball Mom, band Mom, & chess Mom. Her ultimate love was trip planning and going on adventures with her family. She truly understood that every day was a gift, and it should never be wasted.

Visitation will be Friday October 10th from 4-8pm at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave., Darien. Friends and family are invited to return to the funeral home on Saturday October 11th for additional visitation from 9am until time of service at 10am. A procession to Fairmount-Willow Hills Memorial Park will immediately follow the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to TaTa Sisterhood Foundation P.O.
