Aleta Frances Nawrot, age 80, a longtime resident of Naperville, IL, bravely fought a week of complications after a cardiac event and passed away unexpectedly on November 19, 2022. She was born on December 4, 1941 in Chicago, IL.

She also is survived by nieces and nephews: Janet (John) Jones, Bruce (Mary) Albert, Russel (Jan) Albert, Karen (Rick) Dix, Marcia (Terry) Creekmore, Scott (Michelle) Albert, Mark Albert, James Nawrot, Lauren Burchianti, Andrew Amato, Michael (Karen) Amato, Nicholas (Joann) Amato, Denise Nebriaga, Dianna Strauch, PJ, Peter, Paul and Garth Albert. Cousins: Ilene Grant, Cynthia Steiner Sister in laws: Dolores (John) Amato, Sharon Derewjanko Brother in law: Roger (Claudia) Nawrot.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Henrietta Albert; and her brothers, Arthur Albert and Raymond Albert. Sister in laws: Flo Albert and Barb Albert. Nephews: Jim Albert, Wayne Albert, and Michael Nawrot.
After moving to Summit, Illinois at age 10, she attended St. Joseph grade school and then Nazareth High School in Lagrange. There she had a wonderful group of friends that called themselves "The Munchkins": Phyllis Ford, Marge Ventrella, Mary Prendiville, Pat Trimble, Cathy Grace, and Judy O'Leary (since passed), who remained friends for life.
Her first job was teaching at age 19 back at her grade school St. Joseph where she met two more lifelong friends, Jane Roberts and June Proietti. While teaching she finished her degree from Northern Illinois University and graduated with a bachelors in education.
Her old schoolmate from St. Joseph's and friend in high school, Daniel Nawrot, became her dating partner soon after. They married on June 12, 1965. Their first home was in Summit then later Stickney until they bought their first house in Woodridge where they began raising their family of three girls in 1968. In 1979, they moved to Naperville where they remained.
During this time, she worked as a substitute teacher for the Bolingbrook School District where her husband also worked as a teacher. Later she became an aid affectionately known as "Grams" and continued to work until March of 2020. So many friends she met and treasured during these years at work. Some of her lasting friends, known as the Portillos group was: Mary Ellen Schultz, (since passed), Dee Butta and Betty Kohl.
She was a devoted catholic who prayed her rosary and divine chaplet daily and before COVID was a daily mass and holy hour attendant. Her greatest love was following Our Lady of Fatima and she pilgrimaged to Fatima, Portugal along with her husband, 10 years in a row. She taught Religious Faith Formation at Saint Joan of Arc in Lisle for almost 30 years. And she prayed for anyone who needed it. Her rosary beads were her constant companion.
She was a member of the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament for 23 years at St. John Cantius in Chicago.
She was a wife, mother and grandmother like no other. She was a passionate determined soul and was committed to doing what she could for everyone. Please remember her in your prayers always. For she never turned away from praying for someone and now she would appreciate your Masses and prayers for her. She will be sorely missed but not forgotten. We are holding her hand and walking the walk with her through our prayers as she journeys through purgatory into the bright light of the Kingdom of God. We love you Aleta/Mom/Grandma!
Let us Pray: Oh Gentlest Heart of Jesus ever present in the Blessed Sacrament ever consumed with burning love for the suffering souls in Purgatory have mercy on the soul of Thy departed servant Aleta Nawrot. Bring her from the shadow of exile to the bright light of Heaven. For this we pray through Christ our Lord, Amen.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, Masses would be appreciated.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 25, 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 26, 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 2220 Lisson Rd., Naperville. Interment will follow at Naperville Cemetery.
