BAGLEY - Alex Michael Gofus, 42, of Bagley, WI passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 25th, 2025. Alex was born February, 26th 1983 in La Crosse, WI to Jane Rivera and Michael Gofus.
Alex was a kind, caring, generous man and was always one to lend a hand or ear. He was a friend to everyone he met and he was very loved by his family, friends, co-workers and community.
He graduated from Logan High School in 2001 and was a proud Northsider. He enjoyed spending time with his daughters, Hazel and Ivy and loved them deeply. Alex was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing cooking and farming.
Alex was an active member of the community. He was a member of the Bagley volunteer fire department, served as President of the Zion Lutheran Church Council and was involved with the annual Bagley 4th of July celebration.
He greatly enjoyed his job as the Property Maintenance Manager at Stonefield Village in Cassville, WI. Prior to his current position he worked at the Post Office and bartended at the Black Angus in Prairie Du Chien. He also spent years working in Downtown La Crosse at Brothers and Animal House where he made many friends. Additionally, Alex worked alongside his stepfather, Joe, for his business, Century Painting.
Alex is survived by daughters Hazel and Ivy Gofus; parents Jane Rivera, Michael (Linda) Gofus; sisters Lora Gofus, Laura (Mike) O’Neill and Sara Brindley; nieces Katherine O’Neill, Leah (Josh) Larson, Ana Blanchard; Aunts and Uncles Steve (Catalina) Titcomb, Ellen (Dave) Gordon, Ken (Karen) Titcomb, Julie (Brad) Heineck, Nancy (George) Schmidt, Susan Blank; many cousins and best friends Jim (Amy) Nelson, Erik Running, Neil (Vanessa) Spies, Chad (Michelle) Powell and Josh (Katrina) Powell. Also survived by dogs Phlash and Louie.
Alex is preceded in death by grandparents, Stephen and Dorothy Gofus, Roger and Janet Titcomb; step-father Joseph Rivera and Uncle John Titcomb.
There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Zion Lutheran Church, Bagley, WI. A Celebration of Life will be held in La Crosse, WI, at a later date. In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials may be given in memory of Alex M. Gofus to the Zion Lutheran Church in Bagley.
