Lena "Terry" Gofus

Lena "Terry" Theresa (Catanzaro) Gofus, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Parkhouse Providence Pointe in Royersford, PA. She was the wife of the late John S. Gofus Sr., who passed away in 1991.
Born in Reading, PA, on July 16, 1933, Lena was the daughter of the late Charles S. and Theresa (Elmo) Catanzaro Biehl; and stepdaughter of the late Russell Biehl.
Lena lived in the Pottstown, PA, area for most of her life. In her early years, she modeled for Madaras Fashion Centre in Stowe, PA, and became very fond of high heels which she wore until she was physically unable. Lena held several manufacturing jobs in the greater Pottstown area, including companies like Neapco and Videotek Inc.
Terry was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Pottstown, PA, and had a love of white flowers, especially roses and peonies. She and her husband, John, enjoyed their car rides together. They would often end up in Atlantic City, NJ, where she loved playing her slot machines. After John's passing, Terry continued to tell stories of their adventures and missed him every day until her passing.
Nan, as her family referred to her, was always supportive of her family. In her eyes they were perfect well, most of them, anyway!
Nan always had a pot of coffee ready for whoever stopped by the house, the later the time of day, the stronger the coffee! The next time you think of Nan/Terry, have a cup of coffee, and share in a sweet memory of her.
Terry is lovingly remembered by her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Jacelyn (Miller) Gofus, Upper Pottsgrove, PA, Russell and Amber (Dinnocenti) Gofus, Pottstown, PA, and Terri Sue (Kerr) Gofus, Pottstown, PA; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Anthony and Elin Catanzaro, Pottstown, PA, and Robert and Cathy Biehl, West Melbourne, FL; her 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Terry was predeceased by her son, John Gofus Jr.; and her daughter and son-in-law, Terri Ann and Lawrence Farman; her brother, Charles Catanzaro; and her sister, Natalie Gentile.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, April 23, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A Life Celebration will follow at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
