Charles Oliver Wittenmyer

Charles Oliver Wittenmyer, 87, of Pottstown, PA, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2024, at Pottstown Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Ruth (Landis) Wittenmyer, with whom he shared 68 years of marriage.
Born in Pottstown, PA, on June 29, 1937, Charles was the son of the late Oliver and Emma (Schwenk) Wittenmyer.
Charles graduated from Pottstown High School in 1955. He became the owner of Sanatoga Corporation, a business originally founded by his father as Sanatoga Radio Company. Today, it is proudly operated by Charles' children. His father also started Little Bible Ministry, creating small booklets featuring Bible verses and the plan of salvation. Charles continued this legacy, and now his children ensure these booklets are handed out at the store and distributed across the United States, sharing the message of salvation with thousands. In the 1960s, he established Sanatoga Water Conditioning, which he later sold to a valued employee. A devoted member of Church of the Saviour in Wayne, he also had a lifelong love for technology and electronics, always staying up-to-date with the latest televisions, cell phones, and other gadgets.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Ruth; his children, Karen (& the late Dennis) Harp, Connie (& Stanley) Doukas, and Bryan (& Janet) Wittenmyer; his grandchildren, Dennis (& Kristin) Harp, Kevin (& Lauren) Harp, April (& Stephen) Smith, Nicholas (& Heather) Doukas, Jennifer (& Aaron) Landis, Courtney Doukas, Luke Wittenmyer, Bryanna Wittenmyer, Brielle Wittenmyer, and Ava Wittenmyer; and his great-grandchildren, Seth, Logan, Parker, Hudson, Alexa, Joshua, Charlotte, Charlie, Isaac, and Ezekiel.
In addition to his parents, Charles was predeceased by his siblings, Marian Wittenmyer, Emma "Kay" Toliver, Louise Keen, and Warren Nettles.
A visitation will be held on November 26, 2024, from 9:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private for family, but all are welcome to join for a luncheon after the service. Luncheon details will be announced during the service.
