Alex Hudson

With deepest sorrow, we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Alex Matthew Hudson, who left us far too soon. Born on March 5, 1998, Alex was a brilliant light in the lives of all who knew him-an endlessly curious, deeply compassionate soul whose laughter filled every room and whose presence left a lasting impression.
Alex was a Fab Support Technician in a leading semiconductor facility, a role that perfectly aligned with his love for technology and hands-on problem-solving. In his position, he supported daily Fab operations, from equipment maintenance to chemical replenishment and parts management. His skill, dedication, and technical brilliance were admired by all who worked alongside him.
A graduate of FDR High School's Class of 2016, Alex also attended BOCES, where he studied Advanced Placement Computer Repair. Even in high school, he was already building a future in a field he was passionate about, earning college credits and building computers from scratch like a true craftsman.
Alex was the youngest of four siblings, affectionately known as the "baby" of the family, but wise beyond his years. Born five years apart from each of his siblings-Benjamin James Pai, Tyler Alexander Hudson, and Akela Shanelle Hudson-Miller-Alex shared a deep bond with each of them, especially with Tyler, who often referred to Alex as his twin, just five years delayed. Their bond was so close, many couldn't tell them apart, and Tyler now sees Alex every day in the mirror, carrying his memory with pride and heartbreak.
Alex was passionate about storytelling-whether through anime, Lord of the Rings, or deep philosophical conversations about the world. He was known for his bold tattoos, which told the stories of his life and the people he loved, both living and departed. His home was his sanctuary, lined with Funko Pops, LED lights, and tech that pulsed with the rhythm of the movies and music he loved. He had a voice that could be heard across a room, and a laugh that was unmistakable-one that lingers in our hearts.
Though life threw challenges his way, Alex always made time for his parents, siblings, and nieces and nephews, offering support, love, and humor. He adored his nieces and nephews: Isabelle Faith Macaya, with whom he shared a special bond; Grayson James Sarek Hudson; and Theo Hudson-Miller.
Alex is survived by his loving mother, Birgit Hudson (née Pai); his father, Amon Lee Hudson; and his devoted siblings: Benjamin James Pai, Tyler Alexander Hudson, and Akela Shanelle Hudson-Miller. He is also survived by Akela's son, Theo Hudson-Miller; Tyler's son, Grayson James Sarek Hudson; and niece, Isabelle Faith Macaya.
On his mother's side, Alex leaves behind his grandparents, Franz and Inge Pai; his uncles and their families: Stefan and Stefanie Pai with cousins Simon and Tobias, and Bernd and Sabine Pai-a large and loving family who will miss him immensely.
Alex was the last of an era and the first of a new one-a tech pioneer with an old soul. His sensitivity, empathy, and brilliance made him truly one of a kind. He loved fiercely, laughed loudly, and lived authentically.
To know Alex was to love him. And to lose him is to feel a void that can never be filled.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, located at 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the same location, followed by burial at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
