Alexander S. Biro

Alexander S. Biro, 74, of Clifton, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022. Born in Passaic, Alex spent his childhood in Garfield before moving to Clifton over 60 years ago. Before his retirement, Alex was employed with the Energizer Company in Allendale as a microbiologist.
He had been a parishioner of St. Stephen R.C. Magyar Church in Passaic where he attended school and served as an altar boy in his youth. Alex then graduated from Clifton High School and Jersey City State College where he earned a B.A. in Music Education. Alex continued his studies at R.E.T.S. Electronic School where he earned a certificate.
Alex enjoyed attending and working on many community theater musical productions. He volunteered and worked behind the scenes on many local elementary school and high school shows as the lighting and sound technician. He also enjoyed making props and scenery for the shows as well as the Off-Broadway production of "Van Gough" in New York City.
Alex's other talents were as a free-lance musician. He played in various wedding bands, Rock bands and as a studio musician. He played the drums, guitar, bass guitar, the accordian as well as several other instruments. When Alex was not involved in music, he loved to cook, bake and read. He also loved to travel, especially to Disney which he has done with his family since the 1980's.
He was predeceased by his parents, Steven L. Biro and Helen E. (nee Juhasz) Biro.
Survivors include: his beloved wife, Theresa Wagner-Biro; his devoted daughter, Jennifer Biro and his faithful cats, Noelle and Stormy.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 5, 2022 at 9:00 am from the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass at St. Stephen R.C. Magyar Church, 223 Third Street, Passaic, NJ. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O.
