Alexander "Bub" Hamilton, Jr., age 48, of Clearfield, Kentucky, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the UK St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky. Born on September 24, 1977, in Morehead, he was the cherished son of Bonnie Dean Basford Hamilton and the late Alexander "Alex" Hamilton, Sr. In addition to his father, Alex was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathy Renee Stanley Hamilton.
Alex was a Christian who found solace and community at the Lakeview Community Church. He was a dedicated worker, having spent many years with Fast Change, where he built lasting relationships with colleagues and customers alike.
A true outdoorsman at heart, Alex found joy in fishing, exploring nature, and the thrill of collecting guns. His passion for the outdoors was matched only by his love for reading, where he often sought knowledge and adventure through the pages of his favorite books.
Alex's legacy lives on through his loving family. He is survived by his mother, Bonnie; four brothers, Samuel Hamilton and Justin Hamilton, both of Morehead, Jonathan (Heather) Hamilton of Garrison, and Larry Hamilton of Morehead; three sisters, Tracey Hamilton of Clearfield, Jennifer (Tommy) Stanley, and Carrie (Jordan) Fritts, both of Prestonsburg. He also leaves behind cherished nieces and nephews, including Joshua Hamilton, Sarah Renee Fritts, Courtney Heaberlin, Amanda (Cody) Williams, and Chris (Jessica) Stanley, along with a host of extended family and friends who will deeply miss his presence.
In honoring Alex's wishes, the family will hold a private memorial graveside service at the Adkins Cemetery at Hurricane Creek in Pikeville, Kentucky, at a later date.
