Alexander Waldron Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hackman Family Funeral Homes - Hackman Chapel on Aug. 21, 2024.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alexander Wesley Waldron, who left us on August 17, 2024, after a lifelong fight with diabetes. Born on January 12, 1992, in Sturgis, Michigan to Jennifer (Coffin)Roth & Chet Waldron, (Step Mother Valurie Mettler). Alex's vibrant spirit and unyielding zest for life touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Alex spent his entire early life in Sturgis, Michigan, attending local schools and later completing an adult education program to receive his GED. His work journey took him to American Axle and Morgan Olson, where his strong work ethic and zest for life were always evident.
His love for speed was unmatched, whether on a dirt bike, a BMX bike, or in any vehicle. Telling Alex to "slow down" was akin to asking the wind to cease its blowing. His passion for dirt bike racing and BMX biking was only surpassed by his love for fishing and spending precious moments with his family and friends, especially his grandfather Royce, who was also his best friend.
Alex's infectious smile and incredible sense of humor could light up the darkest days. He had the rare gift of making anyone laugh or smile, regardless of the circumstances. His heart was as vast as his spirit, always ready to help those in need. Alex lived his life to the fullest, embodying the phrase "live every day as if it were your last."
Alex is survived by his parents; beloved children, Emmett and Emery; his brothers, Aaron R. Waldron, Adam J. Waldron, Kaiden M Waldron; and his step-siblings, Zachary Colgan, Zoey J., Hailey R., Annemarie K., and Drayke M. Mettler. He also leaves behind his cherished grandparents, Royce and Sandra McCullough, Gary and Debra Waldron, and Betsy Hartup; his uncles, Matthew Waldron and Amiee (Wyatt) Clinkenbeard; his aunts, Megan (Waldron) Blaydoe, and Jessica (Wyatt) Maxwell; along with many cousins and friends who will miss him tremendously.
Alex was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Lilian (Grandma Gigi) and Robert (Bob) Ireland; his great-grandfather, Louie Greene; his uncle, Timothy Coffin; his cousins, Brandon Goodfellow and Cody Smith; his great-uncle, Mark Waldron; and his step-sister, Bailey S. Mettler.
As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the remarkable life he led. Alex, your energy, warmth, and laughter will forever remain in our hearts.
A gathering of family and friends to honor and remember Alex's life will take place Saturday, August 24th from 3:00-6:00 P.M. at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis. In honoring Alex's wishes cremation will follow the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial donations be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, PO Box 37920, Boone, IA 50037, ensuring that Alex's legacy continues to support those fighting the same battle he faced with such courage and grace.
Rest in peace, dear Alex. Your life was a gift to all who knew you, and your memory will be a blessing to all who love you.
