Alexis Alfonso passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the age of 77. She was born on October 13, 1947, in Habana, Cuba, to Jose V. Alfonso and Aydee Sanchez. Alexis was dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and completed her master’s degree - along with serving many years as a system analyst.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Jose V. Alfonso and Aydee Sanchez.
Alexis is survived by her sister; Haydee A. Alvarez; and her brother Jose C. Alfonso; and many other loving members of her family, Alexis R. Alvarez, Amanda Veasey, David A. Alvarez, Gabrielle Alvarez, Isabella Alvarez, Helen Alvarez, Maximo Alvarez, Carlos Alfonso, Carlos H. Alfonso, Elizabeth Alfonso, Sofia Alfonso, Anette Alfonso, and Cristina Alfonso.
The family would like to give special thanks to “Mamita” Chuyisma Leyva, Hugo N. Andricain and Father Paul Yi.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Ln in Baton Rouge on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy in Baton Rouge.
