With hearts heavy yet uplifted by a life lived with faith and love, the family of Alexis Martinez announces his passing on October 25, 2025. Born on September 3, 1980, in Juncos, Puerto Rico, Alexis brought light and love to our world for 45 years. As a faithful resident of Springfield, Massachusetts, he made a significant impact on the community. He was a charismatic soul, always bringing joy and laughter to those around him. His humility was a testament to his deep faith, and his supportive nature was a beacon for those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Alexis had a funny way of making everyone feel safe and protected. He was a true embodiment of the saying, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul."
Alexis found immense joy in riding motorcycles with his brothers, a hobby that brought them closer and created countless cherished memories. He is survived by his loving wife, Norma Lopez Reyes, and his children Geovany, Alexis, Alexia, Jacob, and Mariluz Lopez (step-daughter). He leaves behind a legacy of love, also remembered by his parents Maria Velazquez and Jose M. Martinez, and his siblings Emmanuel Hernandez, Jose, Angel, Gabriel Martinez and Marelin Velazquez.
Alexis's life was a testament to the power of faith and the strength of family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and commitment to his beliefs. His life was a living example of the scripture, "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love."
A viewing will take place on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, at IDDP Iglesia De Dios Pentecostal CLA. INC., 37 Wilkes Street, Springfield, MA., followed by his burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA.
In memory of Alexis, we invite you to share your stories, photos, and memories of him on his memorial page. Every picture, every tale, every shared moment will help keep his memory alive and remind us of the love and laughter he brought into our lives.
