It is with a heavy heart and immense love that we announce the passing of Alma "Lilly" Suarez, a compassionate soul and a beacon of resilience who left us on October 24, 2025. Born on February 14, 1957, in the beautiful town of Añasco, Puerto Rico, Alma radiated love and warmth that was as vivid as her birthplace. Never one to seek the spotlight, she spent her life nourishing those around her with her love, her generous heart, and her unforgettable cooking.
Alma, a woman of admirable resilience and unwavering faith, was a cornerstone of our family and community. A thoughtful soul with a penchant for service, she was never employed, yet she tirelessly worked every day to create a loving home for her children and family. She was often found in the heart of her home, her kitchen, turning simple ingredients into dishes filled with love and comfort. Her dedication to her family earned her the title of 'Best Mom,' a testament to her selfless love and devotion. Alma's generosity transcended to every individual who had the privilege of crossing her path during her time in Springfield, Ma's North End at her home in Cumberland Village.
Alma is survived by her loving children, Angel Rosario, Ana Rosario, and Cindy Rosario; her caring siblings, Zoriada Suarez, Sandra de la Rosa, Rosalina Morales, Miguel Suarez, and Juan Suarez; and her beloved nephew and nieces, Timothy Gomez, Sylvia Pagan, and Orlando Pagan. Her precious grandsons, Xzavies Rosario, Nathaniel Batterman, Her wonderful friend,PCA, and adopted family member, Mary Serrano, also survives her. Alma was preceded in death by her parents, Petra Duran and Alfortunado Suarez, and her siblings, Ismael Suarez, Magdalis Suarez, Alfredo Suarez, Alfortunado Suarez, Jose Duran, and Delia Suarez.
As we remember Alma and celebrate her life, we take comfort in the words of the Bible, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4).
A viewing will be held for Alma Lilly Suarez on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home, located at 730 State Street, Springfield, Massachusetts.
