Alexis Karen (Fascewsky) Olkowski, of Hermitage, PA, formerly of Sharon, passed away on October 10, 2024 at 10:50 am in Nugent's Skilled Nursing Facility of a brief illness.
Born in Sharon on March 15, 1946, she was the beloved daughter of John Charles and Marian Frances Bell Fascewsky.
Alexis graduated from Sharon Senior High School in 1964 and from Pennsylvania State University in 1968 after majoring in Art History with minors in Fine Art and English.
Alexis moved to Eugene, OR, where she met wonderful people, made a good life, time and friends and married her husband, Francis Joseph Olkowski. While there she began working for the Federal Aviation Administration, Flight Standards Division. She worked 35 years for them, nine years in Brussels, Belgium Regional Office as the Flight Standards Administrative Officer.
Upon returning stateside, she moved to Pittsburgh, where she developed an interest in genealogy and family history. She joined the Western Pennsylvania Genealogy Society and served as their newsletter editor, "Jots From the Point". She was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage. Alexis was also a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union, Lodge 126 as well as a member of the Hermitage Rotary.
Her parents predeceased her as did many beloved family members along with her brother John Rod.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Olkowski Enright (John) of Gold Canyon, AZ, and Richard Olkowski (Marti) of Bend, OR, and numerous well-loved cousins.
