Alfia "Al" Clay III

Alfia "Al" Clay, III, born on February 21, 1954 in Winchester, Massachusetts to Alfia J. Clay, Jr. and Josephine Clay, passed away on October 12, 2025 at the age of 71.
Al was a devoted husband to his late wife, Jennifer Fulks Clay, with whom he shared more than 40 years of marriage and a loving father to daughters Alicia and Rebecca. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends for his selflessness and his calm and steady demeanor.
Al spent his childhood in Largo, Florida, and Chatham, Massachusetts, where he developed a lifelong love of surfing and the sea. He attended Largo Highschool and the University of Florida before receiving his bachelor's degree from University of North Florida in 1977. He enjoyed a distinguished career as an airline pilot, serving more than 30 years with Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA) before retiring as Captain in 2019. A surfer at heart and avid reader, Al will also be remembered for his love of good seafood, classic rock and Civil War history.
He is preceded in death by his late wife, Jennifer Fulks Clay, parents, Alfia and Josephine Clay, and his brother William. He is survived by his beloved daughters and their spouses, Alicia Reeves (Chris) and Rebecca Dunlap (Robby). Al was a proud grandfather to Greer Reeves, Harper Reeves, and Phoenix Dunlap.
He is also remembered by his brother, Andrew Clay (Susan), his sister, Catherine Novaria (Robert), and his sister-in-law, Lyndon Clay, and was beloved by many nieces and nephews within the extended family.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 21st at 11AM with visitation at 10AM at Parrott Funeral Home in Fairburn, GA.
