Obituary of Alfonso Anthony Caputo
Alfonso Anthony Caputo peacefully went home to see his family in heaven on Sunday, February 11, 2024. He was being well cared for on Hospice and Assisted Living in Gilbert, AZ until his life ended. He was born April 7, 1939, in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Anthony Michael, Sr. and Josephine Helen Caputo.
Al married Felice Anne in 1970. They had two children. He spent many years as a probation officer with the City of Brotherly Love. They spent most of their 49 years of marriage in Philly until they relocated to Arizona. He constantly encouraged education higher than his family of origin and worked hard to make the sustainable changes endure long term for even his grandchildren. Al took on extra 'side hustles' to help bring home the bacon and never stop providing. The mindset change he implemented created an identity change for his entire family. He will be remembered most for his practice of sending inspirational media (after outlining it) and capitalized lettered messages through the mail.
Al always brought a lighter, happier mood & was one of the gentlest 'shirt off his back' kind of man to everyone he encountered. He was stubborn & always put his wife, family, & friends first. Al was a good person doing the best he could in the situations he was in.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brother, Anthony Michael, Jr. Surviving are his sisters: Domenica Patricia Urbanski, Maria Theresa Schmidt, and Joanna Claire Hartman, with many favorite nieces and nephews. His fingerprint can still be found in his 2 sons: Nicholas, and his wife Karen of Arizona, as well as Daniel, and his wife Rachele of North Carolina. Three grandchildren are Ryan, Justin, and Sophia.
Services have not yet been planned due to key parts of his family residing in different states. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted" (Matthew 5:4)
