Alfred Glenn Bell, age 77, passed away on June 6, 2025.

He was born on March 9, 1948 in Martin, TN but was raised in Milan, TN before moving to Oak Ridge in 1968. Alfred was of the Methodist faith and worked as a machinist at Y-12 from 1968 until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of Machinists Union Local #480 and served as Union Steward during several of his assignments. Mr. Bell was diagnosed with Chronic Beryllium Disease as a result of work exposure. He worked tirelessly as a worker advocate for others made ill in their work at the nuclear weapons plants. A music enthusiast, he appreciated a wide range of music but was especially fond of Classic Rock and 60's soul. His hobbies included motorcycles, classic cars, and airbrush art.

He is preceded in death by parents, Alfred Willaps and Mary Edna Bell; daughter, Kimberly Denise Bell; half-sister, Catherine Churchwell.

Survivors include his son, Christopher Glenn Bell; granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Bell; companion, Jamie Lambdin; nieces, Johnnie Rehberger of Crystal Lake, IL, Brenda McMullins, of Crystal Lake, IL, and Kathy Hernandez, of Atwood, TN.

Receiving of Friends will be from 5-6:30 pm on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will begin at 6:30 pm with John Nipper officiating.
